Whether it was the 218th General Assembly (2008), the Big Tent, Twitter, Facebook, the 100,000 or so miles he racked up on the road or the early stages of the 219th General Assembly (2008) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), it seemed that the Rev. Bruce Reyes-Chow was not only always on the go, but also everywhere during his tenure as moderator of the 218th General Assembly (2008).

Health Committee passes overture on coerced abortions after amending language
The Health Issues Committee of the 219th General Assembly (2010) opened Tuesday morning passing a motion to reconsider the previously approved “Taking a Stand Against Forced and Coerced Abortions.”

New form of government moves on to full Assembly
The Form of Government Revision Committee of the 219th General Assembly (2010) voted 37-5 Tuesday to send the proposed Foundations of Presbytery Polity and revised Form of Government to the full Assembly.

Peacemaking committee recommends Unites States cease combat in Afghanistan
The 219th General Assembly Peacemaking and International Issues Committee voted 49-2 on Monday to recommend that the Assembly call on the U.S. government to end combat operations in Afghanistan.
The PC(USA) has made no statement calling for peace in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001.

In her years working for the General Assembly's network support for rural and small church ministries, Diana Stephen heard many success stories of small churches overcoming challenges to thrive in their communities.
